The World is Just a Book Away Shirin Ebadi Library-SDN Boro serves 223 children in grades 1-6.
This library is named in honor of Ms. Shirin Ebadi, Iranian lawyer, human rights activist, and key supporter of The World is Just a Book Away. In 2003, Ms. Ebadi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts for democracy and human rights, especially the rights of women, children, and refugees. She has founded two non-governmental organizations in Iran, the Iranian Society for Protecting the Rights of the Child and the Centre for the Defence of Human Rights.
